Sibanye Stillwater Limited operates as a precious metals mining company. It produces platinum group metals (PGMs), including platinum, palladium, and rhodium; and gold, as well as nickel, copper, chrome, and other minerals. Its PGM operations located in the United States include the East Boulder and Stillwater mines in Montana; and the Columbus Metallurgical Complex, which smelts the material mined to produce PGM filter cake, as well as recycles PGMs from autocatalysts. The company's PGM operations located in South Africa comprise the Kroondal, Rustenburg, and Platinum Mile operations located on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex; and the Mimosa is situated on the southern portion of the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe, as well as Platinum Mile, a retreatment facility. In addition, it holds interests in the Marathon PGM project in Ontario, Canada; the Altar and Rio Grande copper-gold projects in the Andes in north-west Argentina; the Hoedspruit, Zondernaam, and Vygenhoek PGM projects in South Africa; and the Burnstone and the southern Free State gold projects in South Africa.
